Status Report, Audio Poems
I’ve now put out a dozen or so audio poems, and have watched my engagement (with one monumental exception) decline with each new post.
My wife thinks this is too much MUG time. She is encouraging me to do the harder work of adding images or video to my poems so that they are not all about my moving face. She is probably right. But that is a lot more work! I figure too, a poem a day may just get old…So, for the rest of National Poetry Month, I may spread the work out. (I am running out of poems I know just off the top of my head.) So look for two more, before I switch gears and go for something more like a poem a month, with greater development.
As for the spike. That was weird. In addition to my traditional Facebook, Instagram, and now Substack page, I run a Facebook Author’s page. Last week the thing exploded after posting two love poems. Imagine engagement up by 3000 percent! Only problem, 750 of my new fans appear to be Buxom Babes and pretty Bots who just want to say “Hi.” (I posted a note saying that I am not interested in women selling themselves, or saying “Hi”, to which my friend Lawrence replied with a “”Hi.”)
Anway, be on the lookout in a few days for my favorite performance poem, Molecular to Mania!
